Surfly Labs: Browser Extensions as a Service
As an expat in Amsterdam, I often have to browse Dutch websites. Unfortunately, my Dutch skills are still far from ideal, so I often resort to Google Translate. I depend on it so much that its Chrome extension is actually the number one reason why I’m still using Google Chrome as a main browser.
When we started Surfly Labs, we quickly realized that Surfly’s proxy can do pretty much anything that browser extensions can do. And it doesn’t require any additional installations on the client side. Once it’s set up, it will automatically work everywhere, no matter what browser or device you’re using. Which means I can finally switch to Internet Explorer (if I want to). Isn’t it awesome?
So here it is: our next Surfly Labs experiment, a simple clone of the aforementioned Google Translate extension, that doesn’t require any browser plugins. It’s open-source, and is using Yandex Translation APIunder the hood. Check it out!
